Growth Insights Privacy Policy
How we collect, store, transfer and use data from users
Last Updated: April 20, 2020
At GrowthHackers we fully acknowledge that all information collected online should be protected. All information collected and processed by our proprietary algorithm Growth Insights which aggregates or de-identifies it so no data is reasonably associated with an identified or identifiable natural person.
Even so, this Privacy Policy Document lays out the key elements of how we collect, store, transfer, and use the data we collect. How can you change or control what is collected? And how can you contact GrowthHackers about any questions or concerns you may have? Find out more about it here below.
What data is collected
- First-party Cookies: Growth Insights uses first-party cookies collected by Google Analytics, data related to the device/browser, IP address and on-site/app activities to measure and report statistics about user interactions on the websites and/or apps that use Google Analytics. Customers may customize cookies and the data collected with features like cookie settings, User-ID, Data Import, and Measurement Protocol.
- Advertising identifiers: Advertising cookies are collected and used to enable features like Remarketing on Display Network. These features are subject to the users’ Ads Settings, and Google’s EU User Consent policy, which requires customers to obtain consent for cookies where legally required—including consent for personalized ads.
- IP Address: Growth Insights uses IP addresses to derive the geolocation of a visitor, and to protect the service and provide security to our customers. Customers may apply IP masking on their Google Analytics so only a portion of an IP address is collected, rather than the entire address.
- PII Prohibition: Growth Insights doesn't use Personally Identifiable Information, only aggregate metrics like total of pageviews, number of sessions, bounce rate and average time spent on page from the following dimensions: Source, Medium, Source/Medium, Page Path, Age Grouping, Gender Grouping, Channel, Device Grouping, Segment and Social Network. Customers should follow Best Practices to ensure PII is not sent to Google Analytics.
How do we use the collected information
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning models are increasingly being used to optimize the user experience of both applications and websites.
We help our clients to improve their AI models by providing them with both training and validation datasets.
- A training dataset is a dataset of examples used for learning the ai model desired behaviour.
- A validation dataset is a set of examples used to validate the precision and accuracy of the ai model once it has been created.
The time period for which we keep information varies according to the information's use. In some cases, there are legal requirements to keep data for a minimum period. Unless there is a specific legal requirement for us to keep the information, we plan to retain it for no longer than is necessary to fulfill a legitimate business need.
Web analytics is the collection, reporting, and analysis of website and application data for the purposes of understanding and optimising website and application usage.
Analytics platforms measure activity and behaviour on a website or an application, for example: how many users visit, how long they stay, how many pages they visit, which pages they visit, and whether they arrive by following a link or not? Businesses use web analytics platforms to measure and benchmark site performance and to look at key performance indicators that drive their business, such as purchase conversion rate.
Why Web Analytics Are Important? Website analytics provide insights and data that can be used to create a better user experience for website visitors.
